MP3 conversion FAQ

What bitrate should I pick for music?
256 kbps is the best-quality option for music and most listeners can't hear the difference from the YouTube original. 192 is a good middle ground if storage matters. Use 128 kbps for voice-only content like audiobooks and podcasts.
Why does my MP3 sound slightly different from the YouTube video?
YouTube serves AAC audio, which we decode and re-encode to MP3. That conversion is near-transparent at 192 kbps and above but is technically not bit-identical. If you want an exact passthrough of the original audio, pick the M4A format on the home page instead — no re-encoding.
Can I convert a whole playlist to MP3?
Not in a single click yet. Paste each video URL one at a time and we'll process them in order. Batch playlist support is on the roadmap.
Is this legal?
Downloading content you own, have permission to use, or that's in the public domain is fine. Grabbing copyrighted music for redistribution is not. You're responsible for what you download — we just run the conversion.
Can I convert YouTube Shorts to MP3?
Yes. Shorts are normal YouTube videos under the hood, so paste the Shorts URL and pick MP3 like any other clip. The resulting file keeps the original audio stream intact.
Does the MP3 file include tags like artist and album?
We write a minimal ID3 tag with the video title as the track name so it shows up correctly in most players. Album, artist, and cover art aren't available from the YouTube source, so we leave those fields empty for you to fill in with your preferred music manager.
