Instveed

Free YouTube Downloader

One tool, every format. Video, audio, subtitles — paste a link and pick what you need.

Everything a YouTube downloader should do

Not locked to one format. Not ad-ridden. Not asking you to sign up.

  • Every format that matters

MP4 for video at 360p through 4K, MP3 for compatibility with any player, M4A for lossless audio passthrough, SRT and VTT for subtitles. Other downloaders force one or two — we give you all of them.

  • Actually free, actually unlimited

No trial, no per-day download cap, no fake size limits that appear on the third click. We charge for nothing. The ads on some other sites are a symptom of what they're selling — we don't run any.

  • No software install

Everything runs on our server through a normal web page. No browser extension to keep updated, no desktop app asking for permissions, no shady APKs. Works on any device with a browser.

  • Built by engineers, not marketers

Careful about what data we touch, no dark patterns pushing you toward a paid tier — because there isn't one. We keep the thing running, and that's the whole product.

YouTube downloader FAQ

Which format should I choose for what?
Video to watch later: MP4 1080p. Music for your phone: M4A (highest quality, already AAC). Podcast episode: MP3 192 kbps. Subtitles: SRT. If in doubt, the Recommended badge on each section picks the best default.
How is this different from yt-dlp or 4K Downloader?
yt-dlp is a command-line tool — powerful but you need to know terminal commands and format codes. 4K Downloader is a desktop app that nags you to buy the pro version. Instveed runs in your browser with a single paste-and-click interface, no install and no upsell.
Do you store the files I download?
Only for up to one hour, and only on our server. Nothing is tied to an account because we don't have accounts. We keep a copy just long enough to let you re-download if your connection drops, then a cron job deletes it.
Can you add support for Vimeo, TikTok, Twitter?
Not yet — we focus on making YouTube the best experience instead of being mediocre at five platforms. If there's strong demand for a specific site we'll revisit.
Is there a Chrome extension or desktop app?
No, and deliberately so. Extensions get review-bombed and yanked from the store whenever YouTube changes something; desktop apps need users to trust an installer. Running entirely in our server keeps the experience the same whether you're on a Chromebook, an old iPhone, or a Linux laptop.
What happens to my downloaded files after I leave the page?
Files are kept on our server for up to one hour, tied to a random job ID we never link to your browser. A cron job sweeps downloads older than 60 minutes so nothing accumulates. If you come back within the hour and still have the page open, your file is still waiting.
