YouTube to MP4 Downloader

Grab any YouTube video as a universal MP4 file. 4K, 1080p, 720p or 480p — pick your resolution and save.

The simplest way to save YouTube videos as MP4

Designed for phones, tablets, TVs, editing software, and anywhere H.264 plays.

  • Up to 4K resolution

Every resolution the uploader provided — 4K, 1440p, 1080p, 720p, 480p, 360p. We merge the best video track with the best audio into one MP4, no manual muxing required.

  • Plays on everything

MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio is the most compatible format on the web. iPhones, Android, Smart TVs, PowerPoint, Premiere, DaVinci — they all open it without codec hunting.

  • Subtitle tracks as SRT or VTT

If the video has captions, you can download the subtitle track alongside the MP4 in SRT or WebVTT. Load them into VLC, YouTube-DL, or any modern video player.

  • Optimized for mobile

The interface is touch-friendly and the downloaded file streams directly to your phone — no desktop transfer needed. Smaller resolutions are one tap away if you're on cellular.

MP4 download FAQ

Which resolution should I choose?
1080p is the sweet spot — high quality, reasonable file size, plays on everything. Go 4K only if you have a 4K display and plenty of storage. 720p is perfect for phones and saves bandwidth on mobile data.
Does the MP4 include subtitles?
Subtitles are a separate track on YouTube, so they're not baked into the MP4 by default. Download the SRT file from the Captions section on the home page and drop it next to the MP4 — most players will pick it up automatically.
Why is a 4K file so much bigger than 1080p?
4K has four times the pixels of 1080p, and at YouTube's bitrate that roughly doubles the file size per minute. A 10-minute 4K clip can easily be over 500 MB. If you're on a metered connection, pick 1080p.
Can I trim the MP4 before downloading?
Not here — we always download the full video. To trim, use a lightweight editor like LosslessCut on desktop or CapCut on mobile after the file is saved. Both can cut an MP4 without re-encoding.
Why does the file size differ from what YouTube shows?
YouTube's player stats show the currently-buffered bitrate, which fluctuates during playback. Our estimate comes from the chosen format's declared bitrate multiplied by the video duration, so it's a better pre-download number. Expect the final file to land within a few percent of what we show.
Can I download 60fps video?
Yes, when the uploader provided a 60fps track. The format list only shows resolutions that exist on the video — if 1080p60 or 720p60 is available it'll be labeled as such. 30fps is used as a fallback when the uploader didn't ship a high-framerate version.
